Wifflefest is an Ashland tradition. It is simple backyard baseball, except with 4 players instead of nine, and wiffleballs instead of baseballs. The four players are a pitcher, catcher, and two outfielders. Teams from all around will gather to compete in various tournaments which play on fields that have been meticulously built to 1/3 to 1/4 the scale of actual major league baseball fields.

9:00 a.m. – Elementary School Tournament (Entering 3rd – 5th grades)

4:00 p.m. – Middle School Tournament (Entering 6th – 8th grades)

Sunday, July 2

10:15 a.m. – Wifflefest Outreach Service with Andre Thornton, Cleveland Indians legend.

Monday, July 3

10:00 a.m. – Make up day – if necessary, in case a tournament has to be postponed due to the weather.

Tuesday, July 4

9:00 a.m. – Adult Tournament

6:00 p.m. – Community Picnic

7:00 p.m. – Concert with the Kroc Center Band


Where is Wifflefest?

The official home of Wifflefest is at Southview Grace Brethren Church in Ashland, Ohio (directions).  It is headed up by the Youth Group and the Missions Commission. We are located right across the street from Community Stadium.

Who can play?

There is a division for just about everybody. Elementary, Junior High, High School, Family, Adult, and even a 40 and Over! Teams consist of 4 to 5 players and can be any combination of genders. Divisions will be made according to the age and/or grade of the oldest member on the team.

How much does it cost?

Southview’s Wifflefest was designed to be a low cost community event. All costs go directly to operating the tournament (we don’t make a profit) and are as follows: Cost per team is $25 if the registration is turned in before June 26th. Forms received after June 26th will be $30.  Southview does its best to accommodate as many teams as possible; however, space is limited and teams are placed in the tournaments according to when we receive their registration. When you send the information, please also include a $10 deposit to insure your team a position. The deposit will go toward your tournament entrance fee.
